I just bought two female quails. I just put them in the same coop(I now have four quails) and she started attacking all of them! She grabbed the baby by the head and flung her around harshly. She even started attacking my male, all while making distinct chirping sounds, like she was angry or something. I imidietly took her out and put her in a separate coop alone. I’m not sure what to do at this point, my baby quail has a problem with her leg and is weak. I don’t want her to kill her. What should I do?? Should I keep her alone? Do I return her??

In my limited experience adding new quail to an existing group is asking for trouble especially if they were not hatched out together.

I had some issues with aggression and I paid close attention to who the culprits were. I culled 1 and moved the other to a cage by herself. I left her by herself for a week and when I put her back in she started attacking them again. I just culled her because I have some more quail that need a cage.

If you think your quails leg may heal let him be. Make sure he can get to food and water. If he can't get to food and water on his own I would cull....

If you can return the aggressive one I would definitely do that...

You need to have any new quail separated but where they can see each other for at least a week before introducing them in neutral territory (even completely rearranging the main cage can work). You cannot just put them in together as they will act aggressively towards birds they do not know.
