new flat rate shipping boxes ~ March 3rd

I just received eggs in the "shoe box". I was surprised, I had never seen it before, but they were well packed, I got 18 eggs, only 1 was broken. Seems to work.

That could be, I don't know. We ship oak signs in bigger boxes and most do not cost more than $11-12.00 to ship to the furthest zone. I do take them directly into UPS though - I don't go through Mailboxes, Etc. or anything like that, which would cost more. I'd guess a box of 12-18 eggs would be about $8-10 depending on zone and rural add-ons. But you might have a point there Crunchie. I don't know if UPS excludes eggs or not. I just buy 'em, I don't ship 'em.

I wish there was a bigger flat rate box, too, but I think it would end up being just as expensive, or even more so for zones that are closer to the originating zone. I myself think the new flat rate box is still too small to safely ship eggs. I'll stick to the #7 for now. They're deep enough to safely pack up to 18 standard eggs with plenty of packing.

FWIW, I've had eggs shipped to me in the small Priority boxes, but they were packed with either foam, or barely packed at all. I was amazed I only had one broken, BUT many of them had blown air cells. I think a bigger box with better packing would have prevented them from being beat up so badly.
