Hi to everyone!

Living in Kingston with Hubby and our two wonderful dogs...

My name is Samantha and my hubby is Kevin. I am a local home school teacher and he works in management though retail. Grammie is our Poodle and a funny hyper boxer named Sam (I didn't name him). We have a small pet based farm on 14 ac right on Watts Bar Lake. I raise rabbits as a hobby (ARBA Exhibitor in Satin and Mini lops, but have a couple other breeds including a pair of Lionheads, a quad of Mini Rex, two pet rhinelanders, a few standard rex, and just getting himi (aov pointed) netherland dwarfs). We only have about 35 rabbits, but we raise several annually to donate nice rabbits to local 4H. We also have a pet Boar goat named Morris. As far as chickens, we have a yard flock, a bit of this and a bit of that. Nothing serious, but Kevin would love to get show stock since I show the rabbits. We have one silkie, a pair of game chickens Kevin was given, a Silver Laced Hamburg Hen, a Pair of Sumatras, a Trio of Milli Fleur d Uccle Bantams (my pride and joys), a Trio of Buff Orps and are Rescue Buff/Cochin Rooster we adopted from the local shelter. Everyone for the most part gets along and we happily roam our farm yard near the barn.

Recently we bought an incubator for hatching eggs for my students to watch! They are very excited and I am on edge about messing it up! My grandfather donated eggs for us to watch hatch. We are thinking about adding duck eggs to a new incubator so Kevin can be happy too....

Well, I might, is the rabbit show the same day? Not too sure, I know they was one this last fall and a poultry show (I remember as we took BOB in Mini Rex, Rex, and Harlies and my brother took BIS Youth with his English Spot!). I will have to look into it! Kevin wants show birds sooooo bad, but nothing 'girly' like my d'Uccles. I will see if I can get some pics of everyone a bit later today, chickens that is.

Most of the big time d'Uccle breeders are men, so I'd watch out with the 'girly' comments

I don't know about a rabbit show...

haha didn't know, Kevin just thinks they look like owls... He thinks anything that is little and has feathered legs is girly. Took me forever to tell him that some of the rabbits I show aren't girly. When we would go to a show, he would pick which cages he would carry for me. He skipped right over anything small and fuzzy. He thinks my Lionheads look like small lap dogs. Sorry about the comment, I think Kevin will soon find his Manly chickens, hopefully it won't break the bank though.

Oh no problem about the comment! I just thought it was funny.
Has he ever seen Welsummers? They are gorgeous, big, non-feather legged birds. And they lay dark brown, beautiful eggs!

Someday I plan to get some lionheads, so that I can learn enough to be ready for some really long-haired rabbits. I needle-felt, so that thought of being able to brush a bunny and then make something with the fluff really intrigues me....
