I had (briefly) a pre-fab. After 2 months I had converted my old shed to a coop. Most prefab coops are way to small for the number of chickens advertised, they are often flimsy and I could not have felt comfortable using it for Wisconsin winters. I added 3 screened windows, several vents and some roosts and nesting boxes, cut a pop door and attached a run. It worked well for over 8 years. Last year I bought a coop from a local builder. Walk in, attached roofed walk in run. Poop tray filled with PDZ below roosts. The tray is at a level where I can comfortably scoop daily, similar to cat box cleaning. Easy maintenance and chickens are doing great
