Hello all, thanks for the add!
We are new chicken tenders (hah!) and new to this forum from upstate NY. My wife and I recently acquired 15 chicks over the last week and have already been learning as much as we can find. Right now we have two brooders set up because one of them had severe pasty butt and got impacted so we wanted to be able to monitor her. This morning she has finally passed the poo and is back to eating normally without any rear end swelling (hooray).
We live in the center of our village and are currently researching how to build/buy our coop and run, with as many dogs and such there are in town I don’t want to free range. From what I’ve read we should be looking at 4+ sqft inside and 10+ sqft outside per chicken.
We look forward to see how everyone has their coops set up and thank you for any information we might learn in the future!
