That sounds like an awesome project. We have 2 bantam wyandottes (black ones) and they are very good little layers. Mottled ones would be so pretty.

It's always nice to see another Kiwi on here. Hope you avoided the worst of last weeks weather. We got some much needed rain (we are in Northland) but thankfully not too much.

Yes, I am in Otago and we had some of the worst rain yesterday! Some parts of the yard were well flooded out but thankfully most of my four chicken pens were okay: just one got a bit too wet for my liking. But hopefully the worst is over!

I come from New Zealand(upper north of the north island), I used to have 2 white Wyandotte's but recently sold them. They went broody a couple of times so I had the experience of having some little chickens. I now have 5, 5 week old Hyline's chickens.
