My girls have not been out in two days. But they have been in snow before... so I think their reluctance was due to the hawk and not the weather. These hens were hatched in early February of last year from a broody mom who would not be convinced it was NOT the right time of year! Their first week out of the egg we got an ice/snow storm. Their second week - they were running around in the falling snow with their mom. And then we got a freak late season snow storm in early March that dropped 4 inches, and they were out in it having a heck of a fine time.
Now as for me enjoying the snow... hummm... I am ready for spring. I need to get some gardening going very, very soon.
Hello from Louisburg, NC! We still have a lot of snow in our yard and the girls don't seem to mind a bit. The hawk sounds scary, I hope I don't get one of those hanging around.
