I've always wanted silkies but they would be so. much. grooming.
I live in such a wet, cold climate . ugh but they are so cute!

Thank you! I'm hoping to improve on quality. I made a huge step with these chooks. I'm only keeping 2 out of my last bunch : A feed store story. 3 out of 5 were turd blossoms, 2 out of 5 were cochins, none are correct.

We do our best to keep them out of the mud and muck. Whites are obviously much harder to keep clean. I just keep their area clean where they're foraging . I like to put hay down as well. It helps, but isn't fool proof. The trick is they don't get "as" gross and still resemble a white/buff/partridge chicken.
