I think the main concern with being in the woods would be predators. Make sure to build a very secure coop and run. Use 1/2" hardware cloth instead of chicken wire as raccoons can reach in and grab parts of chickens, and weasels can squeeze right through. Cover all windows, vents and any other openings with hwc too, and build a 2 foot hwc apron around the entire perimeter to deter digging predators.

Good morning!

We are finally moving to a new house in a couple of months with plenty of room for chickens. BUT, the property is nearly entirely wooded. Are there breeds better suited to this environment than others? True plans for BYC won't come to fruition until summer of 2020 but I would like to start planning soon. Thanks in advance!
