New From Texas

After she hatched the last match 5 weeks ago she was out and about for all that time...then on Tuesday she just wouldn't get off the nest again....she took it over and it's near another nest so she kept rolling the ceramic eggs under her too....so last night I took the ceramic egg out from underneath her and moved it to the other side of the coop so she couldn't get it again. She was persistent.

My first baby chick is hatching in the incubator! It's so exciting! It's so neat to watch God's little creation coming through that shell. It never gets old.

I do have room and my husband is building another brood box this weekend. I keep them in the house for the first 2-3 weeks, until I just cannot stand the sneezing anymore from all the feathers....then we put them outside in the chicken yard in a brood box.
