New fuzzy butts coming!!

Mine all had their vacc as well and I never lost one. I wonder what is going on with the ones having loses, I as well had mine delivered in very cold temps, it was 7 degrees out.......im wondering how long they are being held off for a phone call to be picked up

We did lose 4 total so far. 2 DOA - BOTH white silkies (poo) and then 1 SLW was really, really far gone and died shortly after getting everyone to heat, water, vitamins, etc. Then the only RIR just went downhill really quickly and died too, so I need to get a RIR to at least have one. Otherwise, all are doing really well. A couple were looking pretty forelorn - 1 partridge cochin, both barred rocks, 1 SLW - but most are looking great after some poly-vi-sol and water hand delivered. Hopefully the rest make it.

Here is some pics of my babies. They are growing so fast! I have 2 black turkens and one of them is a total camera hog! I have named the 2 Heckle and Jeckle.

magoochie, love the babies. Your black NN looks just like mine...except mine has less bow-tie. Lovin it.

I moved mine into a larger brooder yesterday. 106 chickes in a pick-up truck bed-liner. I made a "tent" out of flat bedsheets over it with old aluminum tent poles for support, then hung up 3 heat lamps at various heights. I put in wood shavings and some stick roosts. They Love it. Started flying and jumping everywhere! They are 2 weeks old now. They have wing feathers, saddle feathers and the cutest little tails starting.

Whenever I go into the garage where the brooder is, I whistle and call "Here chickie choodles!" I am hoping they get used to that signal and learn to come to me when they are older and out ranging in the pasture.

I'm guessing within the next week or so i am going to have to separate them into 2 different brooders. Or at least try to find something bigger and be able to keep the cats and dog out of it!

No I didnt get the assortment. I ordered Light brahmas, Partridge cochins, buff orpingtons, turkens, and Easter eggers.

But at least you might know what you have now!?! lol

Have you gone onto McMurrays site and looked at the baby chick pics to see what you have? Under each breed they show a picture of a chick, so maybe you can figure it out.

I started to look I know I have black turkens and I have a turken with yellow fuzz, I also have a few Buff Orphingtons and I think a few white Jersey Giants a polish and 2 Silver Laced Wyandottes Thats as far as got. They are doing so well.

Glad to hear they are doing well. I still have 1 cochin with pasty butt that is not going away. I clean it a couple times a day and put olive oil on it to try to keep it from matting too badly. He is active andplays with the others for the most part, i just hope the pasty butt goes away soon.
