New gander who thinks he's a chicken!

I have Celtics website plus I see her post stuff on her Facebook page. I keep looking on craigslist for a puppy, I think having one would help tons! Here is a pic of my Indian Ringneck, the female's ring is barely noticeable, her name is Lolly.

They have their own room in a house we are building. It. Is pretty large they are able to fly, they rarely get in their cages. I made them parches that go around the room from grapevine that grows here. I want to build them an aviary outside so they can get more sun and cool breezes in spring and summer but will only let them be out side when I am around!

Has missy started laying eggs? Lucy started laying in December, I get one about every other day, sometimes she waits two days. I use her eggs to make the cornbread!

Sounds so nice and gives them a bit of freedom from cages. I'm sure they would love having an outside aviary.

Last year Missy laid her first egg on Jan 31, but this year they haven't even mated yet, it's 1* with wind chills of -20 not much going on but trying to stay warm. Poor things and they won't go back inside their houses once they come out. I even kept my 2 old ducks inside this morning with food and water something I never do is put water inside their houses but they are 9.5 yrs old and this bitter cold has been hard on them.

I'm thinking after this winter there is going to be alot of people moving south. we're considered mid south and it's brutal out there this morning.

I was just thinking, how do people up north handle the cold? I can't handle the ice very well and today it didn't melt right a away. I hope your ducks are doing well, poor dears. I let my flock out for a couple if hours today... I think it's supposed to warm up tomorrow! Yayyy!

Most of the USA is really having some brutal temps this winter, and all I can say is those further north than us have to be some tough people. and their livestock too. My poor ducks/geese and chickens do not enjoy this at all. and from what we saw last night it isn't letting up anytime soon. I am very thankful we are not any further north than we are or I'd probably have all 36 inside. Now wouldn't that be a sight.

Ice is everywhere out side here with snow now packed down on top. I hold my breathe when the geese walk around because they are sliding right along with me. The ducks do a bit better. as long as no one is being chased. One of the worse things for me is I can't clean up, frozen poop everywhere and getting thicker by the day. when it's 1 degree outside the ground takes forever to thaw enough to even wash off any poop. I'm a clean freak when it comes to poop too. At least it's frozen. lol Spring is 53 days away

something to look forward to.

I'm a clean freak also! Always cleaning poop lol. I feel bad for their poor feet, I know they have down but their poor footies have to be cold. I've had to break open their swimming pool water and water drinking pans also. Today is supposed to warm some and tomorrow the high is supposed to be in the mid 70's! But just heard another cold front is on it's way for late Monday.

Hurry spring hurry!!

70's wow enjoy that day. !!

Just want to share my happy news! The gander has been trying to mate with Lucy! So far I only witnessed this while locking them in the goose house tonight. I was shocked and thrilled at the same time! This afternoon he still hung out with the chickens when I let everyone out but will see what happens tomorrow! I'm so happy for Lucy! As soon as I can get pictures of them hanging out together I will post the happy couple, lol.
