I have been 'following the rules' for adding a new chicken to the flock.. sectioned off part of the run so, they could see each other but not hurt each other... WELL, I come home today and someone had opened the gate and let the new girl out into the big coop/run...When I found the opened gate, I checked her and saw no blood, her eyes weren't pecked out, but she is acting soo scared! So do I leave her in (since I don't know how long she was in with them) or should I separate them again tomorrow?? I left her on the roost with the others but I can get her early in the am and move her!
I am afraid my neighbor's kids are messing with the chickens, I am going to add a lock to the run and coop tomorrow!!!! Dh wasn't here and I have been gone since 11... I double cked on everyone before I left but did NOT open any gates... When I went out to the coop, my little EE comes from under the garden trailer--OUTSIDE the coop... We have never had any problems with anyone but I have heard the neighbor's kids playing at the back of my property in the woods and creek...
