New grown Chickens

One is now eating and drinking water,the other one still sits and sleeps all the time.I bought these chickens yesterday and haven"t been able to get hold of the guy yet,we can drive down there tonight if need to..She puts her beak in feathers and someone said it may be stress and a cold? Should I be worried? Rhode Island Red chickens...Just 2 hens ,bought for laying eggs.Just signed in a few minutes ago.They are in a 8x4x8 with 2 separete boxes on top and a place they can go underneath for roosting.we have had rain for a week in Clayton,NC. No age know, hand went in and caught first two chickens that he could.Have put some lettice in know.

Stress or sickness sounds right.Feed her some treats of lettuce or meal worms and see what she does.

How old? What are your keeping conditions? It's hard sometimes for chickens to adjust to change.

You said 4 eggs- are these broody hens? If so, it's an even bigger shock to them.
