New Guinea - Hen (check), Breed/Color (undecided) - Anymore Help?

Does she have pearling (the white dots) all over most of her body... on her shoulders, back, wings, flanks, tail?

The reason I ask is because an Opaline is only a partially pearled bird, meaning they do not have pearling over their entire body... just in the flank area, with barring on the wings. Some of the feathers on the back would have a light, somewhat variegated pattern to them, but wouldn't be considered pearled. She looked fully pearled in the pic to me, (except in the pied areas of course).

Post more pics of her if you have them!

She is not fully covered in polka dots; just in certain places. I'm downloading more pictures right now.

Here are some pictures, first, of her feathers close up:

And here are two pictures of the Guinea herself- NOT good pictures at all:

Tah-dah! What do you think?

Here is a link to the different domestic color forms of guineas. There are photos of both adults and chicks so maybe you could match yours.

No matter what color you have, all of these helmeted guineas are the same species so you can pair her up with any other ones you choose, guinea fowl like to be in a flock so if you decide to get more a few might be better then just a pair but I have kept them singly for extended periods because of aggression and it did fine.

Thank you, she is really happy with my flock of chickens, or so it seems. I'm not sure I'll be getting more anytime soon, but I know a family that lives really nearby that has Guineas and if mine would rather be with a flock, I could just give her to them.

OK, now I see her colors better! In the recent pics she looks like a Pied Buff Dundotte. I have a Hen very similar to her... also Pied, with different shades of the tan/cream pearled feathers.

If she is happy being with your chickens and you don't mind her, keep her

She may have been ran off and rejected from the flock near you, and that is why she showed up at your place. She may not be accepted back in her flock, or into any flock very easily.

Louieandthecrew, here's a few pics for comparison...

Not a very good pic of my Pied Buff Dundotte Hen (she looks pretty light in this pic):

Decent pic of my plain Buff Dundotte Hen:

One of my Brown Hens when she was about 6 months old (or Cinnamon, depending on which breeder ya ask, lol):

Another Brown or Cinnamon Hen (from the same hatch, pic taken in Jan):
