Hi,
I'm new to BYC, but I've been keeping small flocks of chickens off and on for quite a few years. Currently I have a 1 year old flock of "brown egg layers" (20 of them) and 2 roosters a Buff Orpington and a Wyandotte. I found this site when I was interested in finding out how to hatch out a few eggs. This is going to be interesting. The "brown egg layers" are from several different breeds. I have a few Partridge Rocks a few Rhode Island Reds etc. The resulting offspring will be good old fashioned mutt chickens, but I think it will be fun. I've never really tried to hatch eggs before although I've had a few hens go broody in the past and managed to raise a few chicks that way. Anyway...there is a lot of great information here and I can't wait to dive in.
Mike
