I thought Laura meant a certified vet certificate?

If it's the Marek's vax that's a big problem with anyone who hatches at home. It has to be given within 24 hours of hatch. It also isn't cost effective if you're hatching small numbers of chicks.

Yes, I meant the certificate of veterinary inspection, sorry about that

Actually, from what I've learned Marek's vaccs are not recommended for small back yard flocks, because of the side affects from the Vacc. and as Cindy said for a back yard flock it isn't cost effective.

That why i don't give the vac to mine, if you put an unvac chick with a vac chick, well i went threw that and that's when i dug deeper into it, the vac is actually and virus so the unvac chick can get sick, and the vac chicks there immune system is way weaker than normal for about 2 weeks .

edited to correct what i said.

OMG your stressing me out!!
do the right thing, dont do the right thing, it is so much work.
i decided this year to vaccinate my chicks that i buy from the hatchery. and i have been keeping them separate from my hatched chicks, i figure in 2 weeks or so i can mix the flock. i hope
maybe i should rethink this? rethink the vacc, rethink the mixing of the chicks in a few weeks
