Oh, what a past 2 days for me....Oh well, all the time I was laying in the hospital the past 2 days, i am not worrying about why the heck I am there, (turns out they think I had a mild stroke!), but I am worried that my dogs will be fed, let out etc.... So as soon as I get home from the hospital today, I see the dogs are alive and kicken (only to have the dobie puke all his dinner up along with a chewed up photograph later) and then I go down to check the chicken status. OK...egg hatching 2 days early in the bator, can deal with that, free rangers free ranging as usuall. Then i notice the small pen that housed a serama pair and a single belgian d'anvers that was the friendliest chicken in my flock. IT WAS EMPTY and actually moved from its regular spot on the ground. All that was left were the black wing pieces of one bird. The seramas were black, but the single bird was gold. I am praying he got away and is hiding somewhere along with possibly one of the seramas. I dont know how whatever got them got into the pen. Either dug under the side or jumped on the wooden cover adnd it collapsed inside the pen. i feel so heartbroken because i was not here to listen for a rukus. But especially bad because that belgian was such a sweet bird that would fall alseep stretched out on my lap when I would hold him. But I guess at least i lived o come home and enjoy my other birds. Now I dont want to even put my other baby seramas that I bought and ones I hatched outside!!! I will wait with the gun tonight because I know whatever got them will come back thinking the neighboring pen will be the meal tonight...but what a suprise it will get!!!

Greg, check on line you may be able to speed up the process for getting the permit.

i guess everyones kicking themself for not getting the animals they saw and wanted but voted againest getting! lol

Darleen!!!!!!! Glad that you are okay, that must have been quite the scare. You didn't look like you felt well on Saturday in Tilton... you're lucky. Gouldians are the MOST beautiful finch in the world, you ought to see it when they hatch their own babies. They are so tiny and CUTE. How much were they asking for them out of curiosity? Seems like everyone needs to start impulse buying because there's an awful lot of I SHOULD HAVES on here. I am calling it a night early, I didn't sleep much last night. Was on here by my lonesome a bit after 3am.... gotta love life!

Thanx Heather, you are correct, I was feeling sick on Saturday and Sunday I was even worse. Greg and Janet and Shiree saw me and can vouch for that! haha...I feel OK now, but am drained. I used to work at a shop that had all kinds of finches and did manage to see babies, they are tiny! The guy that had 'em was asking 60 each and I bet he would have taken an offer at the days end.

Yes, numness and tingling on the left side arem, neck face and pain in jaw and shoulder. I have had 2 TIA's in the past so that raised a red flag along with the Angina attacks in my files! Better to be safe so they kept me. I am a little tired and weak now that ya mention it and am especially sad about my chickens. I m praying that one or 2 made it into the wood in a tree caus I did not see any of the buff color bird feathers anywhere.
