New Hampshire Red Hen Staggering and Sitting

So this morning the hen was offered some watermelon (her favorite). She did not eat any at all. As far as we can tell she has not drank at all. She does move around a very little but she still is stumbling a lot when she does. She has not pooped in about 18 hours. Her tail is down and her vent is definitely contracting off and on when we look. We tried to investigate further. I held her gently while my wife probed her vent with her baby finger and a little lubricant. She could not feel any egg in there And was in about 2 inches. While she was probing a bunch of fluid came out. the fluid was clear but very stinky like poop. Even though we cant feel an egg we are going to try to give her a warm bath just to see if it may help move anything along. We also have a phone call into a local sanctuary farm to see if they have a vet that can check our girl out.

If anyone has any other further advice we would be thankful.

How did it go, did the warm bath help her?
And could you get a hold on the sanctuary vet?

She seemed to relax in the bath. She hasn’t laid an egg or pooped. Her condition is about the same. Still alert but just testing. We finally found a vet that will see chickens but they are closed now. I’m hoping they are open tomorrow.

were going to try another warm bath in a little bit.

*Update*
After several warm baths our girl seems to be doing slightly better. She has had several normal looking poops, eaten some watermelon and has been drinking water mixed with hydro hen and B12. She moves around her crate a bit more and will even be standing sometimes when we check on her. She is still not walking well at all tho. She has not passed an egg or anything else. This is still a mystery.

Still no Vet. They have been closed. Hopefully we can get her over there to be checked when they open tomorrow.

Did you already administer some additional calcium+VitD3+VitK? A people tablet will do.
If she is struggling/eggbound this will help with the contractions to push it out.
We haven’t tried that yet. I think we may have some tablets. Should we just mix it in her water?

You could mix it in scrambled eggs. There is hardly any chicken able to resist scrambled eggs.
We do have some calc, D3 & K tablets. We’ll try mixing one into a scrambled egg now and see if she goes for it. Thank you for all the suggestions.
