oooh, i have been sooo tempted to set some eggs with one or two of my girls. i have a few that have been giving me signs of going broody but i've been quick to stop them. i'm waiting a few more weeks to get some more bantam faverolles eggs from another BYCer.

Chickn, will you be planning on having more chicks or hatching eggs to sell from your bantam favs soon? i'd love to get some more from you this year. btw, where/who did you get yours from?

Hi All, just wanted to wish everyone a safe and HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Good luck with your New Year hatches. I had a sizzle hatch yesterday that wasn't due until tonight or tomorrow. There are two more due in the next day or two. Another Sizzle and a white Houdan. I too am a hatchoholic. Might have some GLW next week from my daughters pen. Her pullet just started laying and they seem fertile. Just not sure who is laying one egg a day. There are two buff brahmas in there also.

I have a bunch of chicks growing up in my "bird room" in the house and porch-Serama, Bantam Cochin, frizzle Barred Rock, Ameracauna bantam, juvenile buff old English cockerel, frazzle cochin plus about 15 chick and juvenile button quail, coturnix quail, Eclectus parrot, 4 Gouldian Finches, 2 Orange Cheek Waxbill finches, 2 bronze Mankin finches and 4 Society Finches so the bird room is FULL!

Already looking toward next spring- put in an order for columbian bantam Brahmas, various feather footed bantams and Birchen Cochins.

I'm planning on breeding my buff Old English to my black barred Old English hens to get buff barred old English. Also I plan to breed my Nankin pair and offer eggs. Not sure where the Serama program is going.... have to see

ll tell ya Tammie, my Serama program is not going anywhere fast thats for sure! LOL...they lay the eggs and have such a bad time hatching or quitting, I am questioning if they are worth the aggravation! I really like the breed, but there are other nice small chickens out there and I really am liking these modern games! They remind me of litttle men on stilts! But boy are they LOUD!!! and the ones I have are very picky eaters too. I have tried everything. My button quail I think are all boys even the ones with the cream color bibs...still no eggs and I know they are old enought to lay now. Oh well, such is life in the chicken world!

Anyone out there looking for a free horse? I'm trying to place 7 for someone. All are sound, some are registered most are not broke to ride yet, some are. All are beautiful horses. They are located in southern N.H. let me know if you know anyone interested

Is anyone going to have any Partridge Cochins or eggs for the upcoming spring swaps?
I am so falling for the Partridge Roosters, they are gorgeous?

I got my incubator for Christmas and can not wait for the weather to warm up to use it! After a couple test hatches my wish list is FBCM & Welsummers.

I'm fond of the Old English too but I'll tell you- you like small chickens with sweet temperments- Nankins fit the bill. They are small and quite tame and don't tend to venture far from thier coop. Of OE though, my buff OE cockerel is the sweetest boy! Follows me around the house clucking and making cute chicken noises, falls asleep in my lap

I can't hardly keep up with the button quail requests! I've stopped sending eggs due to the cold and just about the same with the juveniles. Last ones are going south Monday. I got a ton of girls last hatching so if you want some red breasted and cinnamon hens I'll trade you back for the three you gave to me. I'm still waiting on two silvers for you if you still want them
