New Hampshire!

Hello everyone! My four year old daughter and I are searching for a pair of swedish blue ducklings in NH. I really dont want to mail order for jsut a pair. We're looking for a mid June hatching and would like at least one to be a female. We're looking for them to be pets but also eggs as i am allergic to store bought eggs. We live in central NH but are willing to travel. Thanks so much and nice to me you all! Noelle and Emma

Hi fellow NH peeps!  I'm from Plaistow, NH - Soon to be Newton, NH.  :)

I have to say they r very entertaining. If you plan on 4 make the coop big enough for 16 cuz chicken math is real lol. Congrats on the house and let us know what you get. I'm in Chichester.
Once we move to the new house at the end of the month, I am planning on starting my very first flock!

Hi y'all!

I'm new around here but wanted to introduce myself to the NH thread folks. I live in New Boston with my fiance, and our newly acquired flock of 15 chicks (leghorns, NH reds, jersey giants, and a bantam) and 6 ducklings. The chicks are about 5 weeks old, and just this week we moved them out into their coop. We've been turning the light on when the nights get below 40*. They seem very happy, and I love watching them walk about the run. We have 3 Pekins and 3 KCs and they are still in the house in their brooder. They are 4 weeks and 3 weeks old. I cannot get over how cute these guys (gals?) are. Here are a few pics of everyone over the last week or so

Congrats!! Girls will quack, and boys will sound raspy, like they smoke, a lot, lol
and boys will get tail curls 3-4 months of age
Is this your first time with ducks??

Hi @DwayneNLiz !! Thank you!! My parents bought my bro and I ducks as kids, but, they unfortunately didn't last long due to predators. So, this is my first flock! I am so in love. The KCs are a week or so younger than the Pekins, and are still just peeping. One of the Pekins sneaks out a little quack sound now and then, and another has this strange raspy peep and has since the day we brought them home. I am excited to find out which sex each is! One question I do have; two of the Pekins have orange bills, and the other has a light pink/flesh colored beak. Is this of any significance? :)

And a couple more pics.... (you can really see the different beak colors in these pics!)

I dont yet trust the KCs outside, because they're still so skittish!

Sorry I don't know much about pekins so maybe and maybe not LOL, helpful, right?

Good luck with them and make sure you are feeding an all flock not layer feed, and supplementing with niacin to ward off leg issues
