this is also in the "free rehoming section" but thought i would post here too: free rooster if anyone wants him.
i posted earlier about my rooster "creepy chicken" https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/737095/creepy-chicken/10#post_10299448
so obviously i am kind of attached to him- however he has recently started "hulk smashing" me if i go near any of the other chickens. no serious damage I got a few scrapes from his spurs but I don't like it so he needs to go. If you are going to eat him please don't tell me. maybe he would mellow out if he was the only rooster or if you just have free range chickens that you dont pick up so he wouldn't get grouchy? I figure this is the best spot to try to rehome him without him becoming dinner.
I just wanted to share this workshop with you that I heard about, thought some of you might be interested in attending. It is a workshop on raising heritage poultry for profit and pleasure. A vet I know (Regina Downing DVM) is hosting it at her farm in South Hampton, The Sustainable Poultry Network will be putting on the workshop. It looks interesting and is a full day so lots of info!
Good luck to everyone in the path of the storm ... may your incubators and brooders continue to have power, and may your chickens not get buried in the snow!
