New Hampshire!

Pics
Hey all!

If you or anyone you know is looking to lighten their chicken flock by 1, please let me know!

We had a small flock of 3 (1 barred rock and 2 RI) that were 6 months old. Perfect age, sweet, friendly...they were our pets for my 4 year old daughter and I fell in love with them too. Unfortunately, we lost 2 of the RIR's yesterday. In the middle of the day while they were free ranging in our yard!!!!! :-(

My 4 year old is devastated as well as I am. I didn't think these little dinosaurs would make me cry so much. I don't want Sally, our barred rock, to be alone all winter and I want to add a younger hen for warmth and eggs. I'm looking for a hardy, large brown egg layer.

We're located in Northwood.

Hello everyone!

I am new the the site and from Epping, NH. I don't have any chickens right now, but have raised them in the past. I am currently planning out our coop and plan on getting some wee baby chicks in the spring. We will be raising chickens for both eggs and meat, but not raising "meaties"... just nice dual purpose birds.

Looking forward to reading through more of this thread and getting to know everyone!

Welcome. Or welcome back to chickens!;)

Lots of info here.

I'm looking to add links to my website (nefowl.com). I live in Connecticut and want to add some businesses, farms, hatcheries, etc, in New Hampshire to list. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Send me a message, visit the site. Thank you.

I know this is a little short notice, but does anyone need/want a Dominique roo? This fellow came from nyreds' (known for quality Dominiques) last round of eggs he sold back in spring before getting out of Doms altogether. Hatched and raised here in NH by yellow house farm, I picked up two roos from him back in November and I really only intend to use one of them for breeding. The other one is scheduled for the chopping block this weekend along with cull roos from my last summer hatch, but then it occurred to me to offer him up here because he's from a great Dominique line. If anyone is interested, message me soon, cos he's headed for the stew pot otherwise. I'll attach a photo of him, not the best pose to demonstrate type, but it was the only pic I had.

He looks like a really nice bird... sure wished I had room for him.. Would make a great project bird to create cuckoo orps....:)

I also have eggs in lockdown. 16 eggs, 10 hatched overnight, 5 have pipped and still waiting on one. This is my first hatch and it is a fun experience. I dont have silkies but they are very cute chickens.
