Spring, is there really such a thing

I am so tired of shoveling the path from the house to the coop. I took a warm treat to the flock this afternoon around 4 and sat on a bucket, watched them enjoy and dreamed of spring. I can't wait until they can free range again. I want to go buy some live crickets or something like that from the pet store and let them loose in the run, imagine the fun they'd have chasing them all around. Does anyone do that?

This is probably a long shot, but I'm looking to get two outdoor ready pullets or under two year old hens for less than $10 each and within an 45 minutes of Fryeburg (Maine). These are specific breeds I'm looking for:

Light brahama, marans, faverolle, wyandotte and welsummer.

If any of you have any or know someone who does, I'd love to hear from you.

Yah! That sounds like some fun for them and hilarious for us to watch them! ;)

I called my husband from the chicken coop - if I am going to suffer this absurdity, you should probably take a picture. This is why I don't get dressed for work until after the chickens are fed. :p

And this was last week, it's worse now.

The snow is crazy this year. It looks like you have to trudge quite a ways also to get to your coop.

I think last year you got your black sexlink pullets and rooster from me, how are they doing? Do you have any pics?

I'm down to one of the Black Sex-Links, due to racoons/foxes/fischers. :'(

Here she is with her first egg.

Here she is with her new overprotective Rooster friend:
