I have two roos available too in Charlestown, NH. One is a buff colored sebright. and the other is a gold colored, bantam cochin. Both are friendly with people, but I have three roosters right now and my hens need a break!

Does anyone know of any Dorkings anywhere in NH? Fat chance probably but worth a try!

I also have free one 10 1/2 week old Barnevelder roo (shown in the group photo) that is a cull bird for meat or pet, he was malpositioned in the shell and has something wrong with pelvis/hips and does not walk super well (he gets around well enough to eat drink and play and even spar) but is a friendly easy to handle bird if someone wanted a pet. he cannot do ramps, ladders or stairs and does not perch and is a drop dead beautiful bird

I'm relatively new to chickens. I have 10 8-week pullets...2 each of white leghorns, buff orpingtons, barred rocks, NH reds, and easter eggers. They will be layers only...for now. They get to free range through the yard quite a bit and started on Green Mountain organic starter mash. They absolutely love it when we ferment it.

I'm wondering where you all get your feed from. I'd prefer soy-free and organic/non-GMO. I know Green Mountain has an organic soy-free layer feed, but I don't see a soy-free grower. I got the organic starter from the Barn Store in Salisbury, but for some reason they don't carry the grower and I had to go with he convention Poulin feed on a whim since we were heading on vacation.

Does anyone here grow their own barley fodder? I've been considering it as I already farm my own mealworms. Anyways...it's nice to be a part of the community here.

i know the Winnisquam Agway has organic feed, but i dont remember the brand or if it is soy-free, i think Nutrena may also have an organic feed i know i can have my local hardware store order me anything i want if it is one of their brands, i currently go back and forth between blue seal and nutrena feeds

The blue seal feed store in derry, gets all sorts of oddball stuff. They tell me if they don't carry it they can get it. Might be someplace to try. It is on crystal Ave across the street from TSC.
