Just ordered my chicks from MPC...9 of them.
I also decided to go with a rooster, we'll see how that goes. They will arrive around the 7th of May. Too many things going on before that. I decided to go with...EE's and a Roo, RIR's, BPR's, BA, Spec Sussex. A nice mix I think. Wish me well. Building the coop next month w/ a covered run and also plan to let them out in the yard only when I am around...due to hawks etc. Living in northern NH and in the woods but not far from 93 which is nice. Will be seeing you in Milford....

Good luck! I got my first girls from MPC, too. We've been very pleased with them.

you'll have fun from chick to chicken! If you're planning on letting them free range at all, you'll LOVE having a rooster. Mine last year alerted me when there were two adolescent bears playing nearby. I got the chickens in before the bears saw them, and the neighborhood kids got in too.

Hello Everyone!

I am stopping in to say hello from Maine and hoping you might be able to help me out a little. I am looking to add a Jersey Giant hen or 2 to my little flock and cant find ANYONE in Maine with them!! I don't suppose anyone in NH has any? Or even possibly some hatching eggs (though I would def. prefer started chicks/hens, but doesnt everyone?)

Hi I am new to this site and also new to chickens. We live in Derry NH and just recieved our first batch of 12 chicks last week, ordered from mypetchicken. They are so great and i cant wait till they are grown and i can start collecting those eggs. The coop is under construction and i hope itll be complete next weekend and then l can add all the finishing touches on it. This summer is going to be so fun outside watching the kids run around with all the animals. Im stoked!
