My second broody chicken hen is now hatching out keets for me!!! The Australorp is setting on 15 guinea eggs that were set on 6/6 in the evening -- so this is early!!! I figured they were due on 7/4 but there are 3 little heads peeking out this morning and she is having a fit at me if I get too close so I will let her alone and hope many more hatch in the next few days!!

My first broody hen, a Cornish banty, hatched out 2 keets a couple of days ago and they too were early. But we have had temps over 100 for quite a few days and suppose to be over 100 for the next week too!!

Ok -- here are 2 pics cause mama finally got up and I could count them -- 10 keets!! There are 5 eggs still in the nest but mama hasn't returned to them. It is about 100 degrees so I don't think they will get cold but do you think she will return to them??

One of the keets is brown and black on the head and back and white on the underbelly. What color guinea is this? I will try to get pics when they are a little older -- a day or two.

Now if that isn't a great picture, I haven't seen one! I love all those little keets hangin' around "Mom". Are you going to keep them all?

Yes, I would like to have more!!! We now have 5 adults, 3 juniors (about 6 weeks old) and now the 12 keets from the 2 broody's.
