Probably.Would a 100w-175w be fine?
I used a 100W incandescent red reptile bulb.
Might depend on where your brooder is set up.
Here's some tips about chick heat:

I'm getting 4-6 chicks and going out today so I'll have a lookHow many chicks are you getting? With just a few, you wouldn’t need a big heat bulb like that. You may be able to find a 100 watt at Home Depot or hardware store. Remember they need an area in their brooder that isn’t as warm, but has ambient room temp, so they can choose their proper temp. A mama hen takes her babies outside in quite chilly weather, and they go under her when they get cold.
I use a ceramic heat emitter, which puts out heat but no light. You can screw one into your fixture that you already have. I got a 75 watt, but they come w wattages higher as well. I ordered it online, but you can also find them in pet stores in the reptile aisle.
When there is no light, the chicks will sleep all night.

That sounds perfect!I'm getting 4-6 chicks and going out today so I'll have a lookotherwise I'll probably use a 100w red heat lamp because I have access to that. It's very hard to get anything right now with covid

That so
Went to 5 pet stores today with no luck then had to get some feed for the normal hens and rooster and found a 150w red heat lamp- very happy nowThat sounds perfect!
Or if you can find one, a dimmer extension cord.since it's easier to swap out for a lower watt bulb than trying to figure out how to move a heat lamp further away sometimes.
I never thought of that and yes I do thanks150W should be ok. Do you still have a 100W bulb on hand (sounds like you had one already?) That will come in handy as you wean them off heat, since it's easier to swap out for a lower watt bulb than trying to figure out how to move a heat lamp further away sometimes.
