Just remember when you build your Coop/Run = 4sqft in the coop per bird, 10sqft per bird in the run is minimum recommended for flock harmony but we all know BIGGER the better. Chicken Math is :lau

Greetings and welcome to BYC Murray! So glad you joined us. There are a lot of folks here from your neck of the woods. 30 acres is a nice sized spread, I'm sure over time you'll have no problem making it a legit family farm! That beings said, you should look at the sister sites as they have a LOT to offer as well. Go all the way down to the bottom of the page & you'll see links. (on the right... yup, right over there --->)

There's a wealth of info, knowledge and experience shared in the multitude of threads. Browse around and see what interesting stuff you can find. By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... With all the great folks here, generally someone will respond in no time at all. Please make yourself at home!

Hope you enjoy the site!

Hi! I had chickens about 5 years ago but didnt know what I was doing. I now have 30 acres and am planning a coop for about 10 hens. Will probably expand to meat birds, but for right now, just egg layers.
Just wanted to say "hello" and thanks for the great site! So much info on coops and breeds!
Murray
:welcome
