Hi everyone!
I'm a new (3 days now) owner of 4 hens. A friend of mine had them and was moving into town where she can no longer keep them so they came to live with me along with their coop. I have no idea what their breeds are but they are laying around 4 eggs a day. I stumbled across BYC doing research on chickens to make sure I can continue to make them happy lil hens. I would eventually like to get a couple silkie chickens.
I have a hubby and 2 boys, ages 16 and 5 and 2 dogs, Cooper a Boxer and Boo a Boxer/bulldog mix. We are having some difficulties getting Boo to not try and break into the coop to eat the hens but I think after a couple weeks she'll calm down.
