Hello all!
I adopted two 1 year old hens a week ago, they, along with a cockerel are in a small coop in quarantine from my regular flock.
I know it's normal for hens to go off lay when moved, but one of these girls runs up to me when I come say hello and feed, she always inspects my hands for food, and just now I caught he sitting in the shade and purring. Still no eggs from her yet! I know it's only been a week but my family members who took hens from the same farm are all getting eggs already. Of course a watched pot never boils but... Of you're happy enough to purr can't you lay me an egg?
