If you can afford to put shingles UNDER an existing roof, can I borrow a couple thousand?

I've seen @Brahma Chicken5000 's set up. The green roof is part of the run. The coop is inside the run. Double protection! Dry hens!

It doesn't matter how bad the weather gets, they're dead set on sleeping in the trees!

I don’t use real shingles just something similar. I’ll get a picture of the box.

The nest boxes are finished...sort of. They are done, but still need to be painted and the roof needs to be shingled.
