New hens not laying

Help!! About four weeks ago I was give a cinnamon queen and production red hen. Both are about a year old, and according to the friend that gave them to us they were laying.

For the first two weeks we didn't get any eggs, I figured it was due to the stress of a new place. The third week we got two eggs for two days. And since then nothing. I have the same feed, they have plenty of water and fresh bedding and access to the nesting boxes. It doesn't appear as if they are molting or stressed in anyway.

Any ideas for what could be wrong?

Is there any chance that they are eating their eggs? My hens "didn't lay" for a while until I figured out they were eating the eggs. You can buy ceramic eggs if they are eating them.

Egg eating could be the answer. Are they free range? Could they be laying in a hidden place?
Can you be sure of their age? Do they otherwise seem healthy? Acting normally?

We let them out for about an hour every evening. We have looked everywhere we could think for hidden eggs. They act just fine and are very active. How would I know if they are eating their eggs? What do I do if they are? As far as their age. That is just what we were told I can't be 100% sure.

How would I know if they are eating their eggs?

Look for a wet spot in nests, that's often all the leave behind.

I'd keep them confined until late afternoon, an hour or two before roost time,
best way to know if they are laying or not...and also to see if they are eating the eggs.

They may also be starting to molt if over a year old.
