Hi everyone
We had six hens that we got from Tractor supply as chicks in back 2013.
My husband built a cute little coop, though a little too small for six hens.
We loved having 'the girls', but we are empty nester grandparents who just downsized from living in the country to a smaller house at the edge of a small country town in mid-Michigan.
We brought the coop with us, and just got permission to have a few hens!
So we hope to remodel the coop and get four new babies soon!
We mainly want them for eggs and friendly pets. Storebought eggs just pale in comparison to having your own fresh eggs!
We gave the last hens away when we moved. We had 2 Barred Rock, 2 Amercauna, 2 orpinton. I'm not sure where to get chicks this time of year??
A friend told me about Back Yard Chickens website.
Our hobbies are remodeling our new/very old house, our dog, canning, reading.
Looking forward to having chickens again!
I want to do it right and need to refresh my memory on all the things to do to get ready
