wow today if FULL of supries, I went out side and wraped more of our porch with chickenwire. hubby suggested it,
he came home last night "gesh we should just keep all of em" lol, I told him the hens we could but we can only have one rooster!. and he
had to point out "you know you need to wrap more of that porch.. they can't get out.. but stuff can get in.. (gesh genius thanks for pointing out that "Not" obvious thing
I only stoped where i did cause of the heat.. I was POURING sweat , but i went out this morn and wrapped more of the porch (pics to post later). and hubby suggested that since we have had them around since saturday the chance's the 2 eggs that are unhatched will hatch are 0. and to get in while she is distracted and remove them. So i go to do so and
I notice one egg has a hole in it i'm like "that's odd that hole was not there yesterday when i looked" so I told him there is a hole in it.. and I was leaving it and see if anything happens by the morning
well I go about my day.. and I get a call from my Friend "someone on freecycle has chicken coops for grabs" so I contact that lady and go pick me up a coop.. not the prettiest but I can fix it up nice. once this heat breaks.. for now they are fine how i have them.
Then I get home and decide to clear out the area im gonna put this "coop" next to where they currently are.. hubby said to just join the 2 n let them have under the porch for shade.
well I decided to look in on the eggs again quick and to my suprise
ITS MOVING!!! and the hole is the size of a quarter! I can see part of the chick and hear peeps!! my son and i nearly fell over with excitment. as we had just come more from our 2nd trip to the dump with all the ruin toys from the weather!!!
so I posted a question on a diffrent board but I'll ask here too
1. now how long till he or she Emerges fully from that egg?
2. if it don't by a certin time should I go in and help in the nest or bring it in my house and help?
3. should i now give the other egg a day or 2 more? or bring it in tonight and use a flashlight or candle in a drk room to check for movment. and if there is return the egg and waite
think that is all the questions i hav.. I'm about to go outside and check on it again. mabey i'll have a video to upload to photobucket to watch!!
