Hi, my name is Pam. I've been raising chickens of all breeds and sizes for about 20 years. I am an owner/operator of a small Horse Farm and chickens always seems like a natural addition. We also raise Miniature Fainting Goats. I am in the Shenandoah Valley of VA, at the northern tip of the state. Anyhow I am here for some help on identifying some girls in my flock as I would like to do a bit of breeding. I've not had a roo for many years but ended up with a few during a chicken buying process. My BF and I love our hens and while we sell eggs, we've been getting a lot of calls lately for chicks or fertilized eggs. Our local town has recently changed laws to allow chickens in city limits!!

FWIW, I am going thru the VA NPIP to register my farm and flock...

Anyhow I will hop over tot he other pages and post a few pics of the 2 girls I am unsure of..hopefully all you guys will be able to help identify for me.

Welcome to Backyard Chickens!

Roosters are a great addition to the flock. I love the way the manage the hens and protect the flock.

Congratulations on your City allowing chickens too

G’Day from down under Pam :frow Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock or other critters, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
