Hi all! I happened to get into hatching and raising coturnix quail this past year and throughout my journey have come across this site. Finally figured I should join, as I’m currently trying to put feelers out for people in my area that might want to enrich their own breeding program. And if nothing else, then to be able to post any questions I might have later on.

I got started with mailed eggs and was able to hatch a total of 10 chicks from that batch. 4 males(two of which were rehomed) and 6 females..(4 jumbo whites and the rest were various other colors) I just recently lost one of my favorite jumbo whites to egg binding 😢 I still haven’t gotten over it. Finally understand why my friends (who raise chickens) would always get super upset anytime something happened to their girls.

Anyhoo, if there are any quail enthusiasts out there(especially in Maryland) please feel free to reach out. Would love to meet more of you!

Ps I’m looking to rehome/sell 4 male quails(approx.6wks old). I’ll make a separate thread for that though. 🙃

Pictured is of one of the roo chicks from my most recent hatch. One of the prettiest birds I’ve had so far.
And below him is my beloved Peep (who passed)😭💔

Oh my, so beautiful! :love Thank you for sharing! Sorry about your loss of Peep. :hugs

Welcome to BYC! :frow
