I stumbled upon this cute little site trying to find info for when I move from Iowa to Nebraska. I have a total of 18 chickens now, 13 hens and 6 roosters.
I had to take my friend’s 3 roosters because he lives within city limits where roosters are not allowed. They quickly attacked my neighbor’s chicks and my grown woman neighbor herself. Those 3 have been in a dog crate over the summer. I will be feasting on them next week at Thanksgiving dinner.
My other 3 roosters are Mr. Green and his two sons, both 2 months old that I thought were hens until last week.
I’ll be active on here mostly asking questions about their diet, while also trying to learn about different breeds and other do’s and don’t’s about owning chickens.
Pics are: rooster jail, teenager rooster, and Mr. Green with his ladies.
