Hi I'm new! I live in ne ms. I'm having a small garden this year where we rent but its been tough...my dirt is nothing but rocks...big rocks...buckets from a small row I tilled up...so I'm trying...next year ill have to do a raised garden. I've got 4 types of tomatoes, 4 peppers I think lol, squash, okra, cabbage, lettuce, onion, eggplant, herbs, carrots, ect...

Get yourself some horse manure, it will do wonders for the soil. I have always wanted to plant okra because of the beautiful flowers.

I find it ironic that you want to keep out armadillos and ants. Deer armadillos and ants, oh my! That's a really tough one. I'm glad I don't have all that lurking around here, my little garden wouldn't stand a chance. Welcome to BYC.
