New chicks are very exciting

Wow a lot of welcomes and thank you all here. Nice to know this is a pretty active forum yay.

Ooo so guys an hour after making that first post I made I was informed that the chicks are arriving tomorrow! They turned out to be early hatchers lol.

The chicks are literally staying in my bedroom and don't worry I got ways for ventilation and has already got all the supplies for them little wee baby brahmas. I've always been wanting and loving birds for many years, now here I am! I'm so excited.:jumpy (Gotta say I love these emojis)

I really hope no issues come along with these chicks but I'll see when tomorrow comes. I would definitely be asking questions here and there if I run across anything. When those chicks arrive I am going to be taking photos of them.

The breed of chickens my family is starting with are light brahma chickens. Here in this new home I live in I do woodcarving, rock tumbling for polishing stones and fossils for jewelry and other products, painting and drawing and sewing toys, clothes and other necessities along with 3D Printing. Going to be trying out leather and fur products as well as the use of feathers for decoration of art and pillow stuffing. I may find many other things to do about here!

My family moved here from Fresno, California for *many* reasons (I don't want to explain cause its a little more on the personal side). My grandpa was a carpenter and construction worker, grandma who loves to clean the house and do some sewing (quilts usually but occasionally clothing). My stepmother does knitting and other such things having to do with yarn. Then there is my father who is a musician (plays guitar and mandolin) as well as my sister (plays piano and violin and sings), my other siblings are very insistent on following me or anyone else about the new home and property but much of the time it is a bit too dangerous as me and my father were clearing out snakes and rusted out sharp metals. THIS is literally a 10 acre property of mainly woods and a creek so we do have to deal with quite a bit of wildlife.

Welcome to BYC! Wow you have your work cut out for you. Question is do you have a coop/run and brooder set up?New babies so exciting
 
I have been clearing out an area with the help of my family. An old shack that is perfect for the future coop but they're going to be free ranging so they won't be in one spot at all times. I have already got an area where they hide which are the tree cover nearby the coop with fencing to keep the chickens from going out to the dirt road(Don't like that since a few people come driving through there). But the chicks for now will be inside my own bedroom until old enough to go outside and the coop. By then it will be all ready.
