Hello,

I'm still trying to figure this site out, and still trying to figure out being a chicken mom for the first time. I live in Friendship NY, and currently have 3 Golden Laced Wyandottes, and 3 Salmon Favorelles, although I think one of my Favorelles is a rooster.

They were 5 weeks on Monday.

Nice to meet you Heather. When your chicks are 6-8 weeks of age post photos at "what breed or gender is this." to sort them out for you. Male Salmon Faverolles are colored much differently from hens.

Yeah, that's what I've noticed. One of my favorelles is much darker than the others, "she" is mostly black. And her comb is much more prominent.

I would guess that to be a cockerel but I'm not completely sure.

Yes, the bird shown is a cockerel....the plumage is quite distinctive in this breed with regards to gender.
