BYC has a Learning Centre and also Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out. These two in particular may be of interest to you at this stage:

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock when they arrive, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out

oh yeah, one more thing. it is helpful to us here at BYC if everyone puts at least their general location on their profile so that when you post on forums we can adequately give you advice based off of geographic location (you might be surprised how much this can help!) All you have to do is select Account in the upper right hand corner and then click on Personal Details (then you will see all of the items on the page). You don't need to put specifics, you could put PNW or western OR, and that would work. I have Western WA on mine, under my picture, if you can see it. Hope that helps!
