I can’t seem to get my brooder more than 80 degrees in 40 degree weather I have a stock tank with wire cloth over the top and a 250w bulb. I need suggestions.

How old are the chicks?
80 should be warm enough.

To get the temperature higher (under the light only), you need to use a board over part of the top. Even a towel to be honest. Be sure the board/towel aren’t near the light. You don’t want to start a fire, and you do need air to circulate inside.

Is your incubator indoors or outside? You may need to move it to a room with higher temps so your heat lamp can give the extra boost if needed.

That doesn't make ant sense ... you should be able to adjust it... It should have that built In function... you might need a replacement... do you still have the warranty??
