Welcome to BYC from Arizona! This is the place to be for all your chicken news, connections to fabulous fowl folks and more!
I have on occasion fermented the feed. I've also sprouted it and made fodder... then I saw the YT channel EdibleAcres ...and said to myself that's what I want to do... a chicken compost system - they throw soaked seed into the sysetem and the chickens get those seeds at whatever point they are at (soaked/fermented/sprouted) and exercise scratching for it all...and they get beautiful compost at the end of it all, happy chickens and lots of eggs!

I tried fermented feed for about a month and it was too much of a pain for me. I like that there is no waste in the fines, but I can still make a wet mash out of those.
