Hello, I am new here. I am a chicken owner of 2 hens. 1 Barred Rock and 1 Americana. I live in Fullerton CA. I am actually looking for recommendations to re home my girls. We have had some unfortunate circumstances arise and have to downgrade our living situation. I will no longer have a backyard for my hens. Both of them lay eggs. No problems, healthy and happy. They are almost 2yrs old. I want to find a loving home for them or a sanctuary that will let them live their best life. Any recommendations I. The north Orange County area would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you kindly,
Jennevieve

Welcome to Backyard Chickens. This is a great place to explore and hang out. Tough choice to let them go.
Try your state thread there is also a re home thread.

I would try posting them in the So. California thread and in one of the Buy Sell Trade Forums.

I'm not sure if you have a feed store (or any places) with a bulletin board, but other options might be Craigslist or a local fb farm/garden group (as long as it's allowed in the group and you are discreet to the fb overlords, I hear this can be successful.)

I'm not sure how your neighborhood is or what you are wanting in return for them, but often times items are left by the road with a "free" sign and that works pretty well. I'm not saying to leave your chickens by the road, but maybe you could put a sign out saying you have chickens available with your contact info on it?

Best of luck with your move and rehoming your girls! Welcome to BackYard Chickens!

i hope you find a good home, i read some good suggestions above. glad you joined us

Hiya, Jennevieve, and welcome to BYC! :frow

So sorry you have to rehome your chickens. I hope someday your situation changes and you can have chickens again!

Lots of great help above! I have the most success in my state/local poultry groups on FB but there are other places too.
