Thanks for all the feedback. I donot have much room left in my garden. I will have to fit the coop in. I donot want them to run wild in my yard. I want somthing small but not too small. I live in Fresno,California.Im not sure of what kind of hens I want. I have had hens years ago I had a big pen for them. I donot have that pen any more are the space were it was located.

3 - 4 square feet per chicken is optimal for large chicken. For bantams 2-3 per bird. If you are to keep them confined. But letting them roam now and then makes um happy.
