I read and lurk but I am going to share today! I have 23 chickens - assorted pure breeds. Winter came and my shed was more insulated - I offered to take a bantam rooster in for the winter. My bantam hen went broody. She of course picked out the "favorite" high yield nest and parked herself. I pulled the single nest out and put it a dog crate. She had a few bantamXpolish cross eggs (should be interesting!) two bantams eggs and 2 silkie eggs. Today...21 days later.......

Three hatched so far.

I can see where this could be an addictive behavior!

welcome to the forum. What a beautiful little hen, I would love to see more pics of the chicks when she takes them out for a stroll.
