Hi everyone, I'm new to chickens, and am looking forward to keeping a small--like 2--flock starting later this spring. I'm a mom of 16 month old twins and I work full time as an Episcopal priest in Boulder. Can't wait to soak up new knowledge and connections!

Check out the Learning Center for an introduction to keeping chickens and make sure your coop is big enough to accommodate more than 2 hens. Once you discover how much fun they are you'll want more!

I might suggest a minimum of 3 for your flock. That way if one dies, there will be two left to serve as company for one another. Chickens are very much flock creatures.
