I am new to the chicken world. We just took in 6 chickens that a friend had to get rid of. We have 3 silkies (2 roos, 1 hen) & 3 sebrights (1 roo, 2 hens). We have them in temporary coops right now until we can get the big one built. My question is if I can put them all together in one pen together? We're planning a bigger coop with a 10x10 run. We do have them separated at the moment because of limited space, but I want them all to be able to enjoy the new coop and run. Thanks so much!

Welcome from the Ocean State!

Originally from Georgia. Been to Lookout Mt many times. Beautiful area.

Your only issue in a coop that size will probably be the two roos. Depends on how they get along.

Word of advice : DONT EVER PUT TWO ROOS TOGETHER . Although they may get along now Ive heard some horror stories of roos fighting .Also some more advice would be to get maybe more hens too one roo .
Good luck .

If the roosters were together before, they can stay together now. If they have and you can, let them mingle for a while so they don't become strangers. In fact it might be a good idea to let them all roam in a common temporary run now if they were a flock before.

Thanks, guys! I appreciate the advice. The roos were together before so they've done fine together so far. But we do have a friend that is gonna take one of the Silkie roos so I think all is gonna be ok. I do plan on getting more hens when when we get the bigger coop built. And I think we're actually gonna do the "hen house" and "bachelor pad" thing with a "love shack" on the side. I want a few different breeds so I don't want to have a bunch of cross breeding.

Thanks bunches!!!
