Haha I had to laugh at your post. I know what you were trying to say, but hopefully the Ameraucanas didn't eat the others! Lol! Crossing my fingers for a good rest of hatch!
I'm on the border of Union and Middlesex counties, and close to Staten Island. I only did a quick search on Craigslist, but I'll search a bit more using those terms. Thanks!
So exciting!!!! I have to hatch eggs at least once. What do the pencil markings mean on the eggs? Is that so you know when and how to turn them?
When I candle them i trace the air cell to see how they are growing. I have five out now, one zipping and one rocking. Today is day 20 for the AM and 19 for the rest. I hope more hatch. Did she lay again today? I hope she holds it in till she can get to the nest box in the morning. So exciting!!!! I have to hatch eggs at least once. What do the pencil markings mean on the eggs? I knew my FBCM that I got from njchix was very close to laying. I was expecting an egg any day. Yesterday she was in and out of the coop ALL day and this morning we found an egg! It's so pretty. She laid it while on the rooting bar so it broke but what a pretty egg!!!!
